"Dear Fellow Concert Goers,
This time I was given the great opportunity to write about a memorable concert I had the privilege to attend to. This time I wanted this writing session to be special. I wanted to tell you all about a time I was the lead singer of a (short-lived) band.
About ten years ago, when I was a freshman at University, a great meeting for “mechones” (first year students) was going to take place. Everybody was looking forward to attend to this great musical event, and especially, every single band was looking forward to give its best shot. Everything had to be perfect.
One of those bands was composed by English Pedagogy Students, and they chose “ME” to give a special surprise. They thought I was a funny person which had something to give to the audience, so, out of nowhere, they told me to sing a funny song to cheer the audience up.

What I sang to a drunken (pissed off, really) group of university students was memorable, at least for me. I combined two songs, “La Chona” from “Los Tucanes de Tijuana” and “Lithium” from Nirvana.

The laugh was massive, and the fun, even more memorable. It was a nice touch of foolishness”.

Wow what fun haha I don't think I've ever witnessed anything like this in my college years, it must have been a very good time.
ReplyDeleteHi, René, It's really impresive how they mixed nirvana with Los tucanes, but I admire your temperance, if I were you I could die of shame.
ReplyDeleteHaha it seems very funy, i wish we could see that in a video or something! I'm in 3rd year and i think the best year was the first, Calama it's really a great place to create memories.
ReplyDeleteHaha, until today I haven't had the opportunity to create such a fun memory in my student years as this one.
ReplyDeleteAs I read it, I remembered that when I was a teenager I liked going to see tributes to groups of my favorite groups, I really enjoyed when the public made "mosh", although for me was stupid.
ReplyDeleteThat sounds hilarious jnakjnx I wish that my welcome to university had been as memorable, I'm really shy and especially in public, so I sicerely admire what you did because I would panic and run from the situation. I aspire to do something as cool as that someday to some mechones (ᐛ)ノ゙
ReplyDeleteThis is really fun hahaha. René, you have some very special hidden talents, not everyone can even imagine how to mix what you mixed hahaha
ReplyDeleteBest regards!

ReplyDeleteHi teacher hahahaha I hope that in 2017 when i was "mechona" the concert that me and my friends attend was a half of funny like I imagine yours. After that I imagine you became very popular in university... "hey look, the tucanes-nirvana mashup guy" haha Maybe you should sing us the song the next class.

ReplyDeleteJAJAJ I would never have imagined that you had an artistic past, it must have been an interesting medley between two songs of very different styles!!
ReplyDeletehahahaha, I really laughed. I imagined the situation and it seemed very, very funny, and at those university events, in addition to having a good time, something memorable always happens.
